Turkey’s retail sales rise in October

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s retail sector experienced significant growth in October, with overall sales rising 15% compared to the same month last year, according to reports from the national statistical authority.

Trade sales also increased 7.4% year-on-year, while wholesale trade saw a 3.8% rise. Among sectors, food, beverages, and tobacco sales grew by 7.7%, non-food products surged 19.5%, and automotive fuel sales rose 7.4%.

Sales of technology and media products, including computers, books, and telecommunications equipment, climbed 33.4% year-on-year, and online retail also recorded a 5.2% increase.

On a month-to-month basis, retail sales edged up 0.2%, whereas trade and wholesale sales declined by 3.6% and 6.1%, respectively.
