Nearly 4,000 Attend the New York Tennis Expo To Kick Off The New York Open

LONG ISLAND, UNITED STATES, February 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — More than 3,700 attendees came out for the New York Tennis Expo on Saturday, February 10 at NYCB LIVE home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in the largest event of its kind in the country.

The event was free to attend and over 60 exhibitors and sponsors from the tennis world and more filled the Expo Hall to showcase their companies and services to the attendees.

“It truly was a first-class, professionally run event,” said Josh Ripple, New York Open Tournament Director. “It was the best fan experience from an interactive standpoint. It served as the best way to present tennis on Long Island in a way that even I underestimated.”

There were fun things to do and events all day-long, highlighted by the Expo’s array of activities. The tennis teams from Fordham University, New York Institute of Technology, Farmingdale State and Nassau Community College were on the Grandstand court throughout the day conducting clinics and playing points with attendees.

The Activity Zone was located inside the Expo Hall, and featured a multitude of things to do. New to the Expo was a Beach Tennis Arena, which was packed all day long and run by New York Beach Tennis pros and gave guests a sense of summer fun in the middle of winter.

There were two 10&Under mini courts, sponsored by USTA Eastern, where pros would work with kids as a part of Net Generation Clinics.

“I would say our favorite part has been the activities for the kids,” said Simone Martin of Queens, who brought her two children to the Expo. “They loved the 10&Under courts and they also got to play on the court where the professionals are going to play. The interactive activities going on here have been great.”

The Expo had the tennis world covered for all ages and levels, ranging from 10&Under tennis all the way through the professional ranks, as throughout the day guests were able to watch professional players, including Kei Nishikori and the Bryan Brothers, practicing on the Stadium Court as they trained ahead of the start of the New York Open.
The Expo covered the fashion aspect of tennis as well with a Tennis Fashion Show in the afternoon, which showcased some of the latest trends in tennis apparel and accessories.

We were lucky to have some of the sport’s top local coaches and minds take part in our two Speaker Seminars during the Expo. The first was “The Road to College Tennis” and was headlined by former collegiate stars and current ATP Tour players Chris Eubanks and Cameron Norrie; the second panel focused on “Taking Your Game to the Next Level” and featured ATP player Dudi Sela of Israel joining the renowned panel of coaches and experts.

The center of the Expo hall was home to the New York Tennis Expo Broadcast Plaza where video and radio interviews with exhibitors and attendees were conducted throughout the day. As the lead-in event for the New York Open, the tournament’s Draw Ceremony was held at the Broadcast Plaza and featured appearances by Ryan Harrison, Jared Donaldson and Sebastian Korda.

Canadian star Eugenie Bouchard, who participated in the New York Open’s Opening Night Premiere, stopped by for a meet-and-greet with guests and sign autographs.

The Expo was a celebration of tennis that brought together the community for a free day of family fun to usher in the debut of the New York Open. It could not have been possible without local support, and the support from many companies and people nationally and internationally, in addition to the nearly 4,000 attendees who came out to make the event such a success. We are looking forward to the upcoming spring and summer seasons in our area and to see the sport of tennis continue to grow!

Intermountain Healthcare Opens New Hospital — Without a Building or Walls

The virtual hospital is one of the largest of its type in U.S., will make services available to underserved areas

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, USA, February 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Intermountain Healthcare has launched one of the nation’s largest virtual hospital services – called Intermountain Connect Care Pro – bringing together 35 telehealth programs and more than 500 caregivers to enable patients to receive the medical care they need, regardless of where they are.

Connect Care Pro provides basic medical care as well as advanced services, such as stroke evaluation, mental health counseling, intensive care, and newborn critical care. While it doesn’t replace the need for on-site caregivers, it supplements existing staff and provides specialized services in rural communities where those types of medical care usually aren’t readily available.

Because the healthcare services are online and digital, Connect Care Pro isn’t located in a specific building, but provides much of the same care that you’d find in a large, medically advanced hospital. This clinically integrated, digitally-enabled approach not only improves the quality of care in the communities served, but saves patients and clinicians time and money.

For example, an infant at a southern Utah hospital was being supported via Connect Care Pro services and received a critical care consultation that allowed the sick baby to stay in that facility instead of being transferred to a newborn intensive care unit in Salt Lake City. This single avoided transfer would have cost over $18,000 dollars. The parents of this baby were able to remain in their community, surrounded by their support system, instead of traveling what would have amounted to 400 miles and seven hours round-trip every time they wanted to see their baby. Using this technology to reduce the need for transfers of ill newborns to other hospitals, Intermountain lowered the cost of care for patients by more than $2.1 million over several years.

All Intermountain Healthcare hospitals including 10 of Intermountain’s rural hospitals use the offerings of the virtual hospital to supplement or add to their existing services, and nine hospitals outside the Intermountain Healthcare system have already signed up to provide high-level care and keep patients closer to home whenever possible.

One such hospital is Kane County Hospital, an independent rural facility located in Kanab, Utah. “Our partnership with Intermountain Connect Care Pro has had a huge positive impact on our community,” said Charlene Kelly RN, BSN, chief nursing officer at the hospital. “Kanab has had one of the highest suicide rates in the state, not including patients that come to us from our border town in Arizona, and we don’t have a crisis worker here. Trying to place a patient who has not had a crisis evaluation was next to impossible. With crisis care from Intermountain Healthcare, patients receive that crisis evaluation in less than an hour, and if the crisis worker recommends inpatient treatment they assist in placing the patient. Our providers just love having this service available.”

Intermountain Connect Care Pro also plans to extend these services in the community where they can easily be accessed in underserved areas. Discussions are underway to put patient kiosks or access devices in locations such as homeless shelters, schools, community centers, and perhaps jails, to make getting needed care more accessible.

Intermountain Healthcare is a Utah-based, not-for-profit system of 22 hospitals, 180 clinics, a Medical Group with some 1,500 employed physicians, a health plans division called SelectHealth, and other health services. Helping people live the healthiest lives possible, Intermountain is widely recognized as a leader in transforming healthcare through high quality and sustainable costs. Bluewater showcases plastic bottle beating public drinking water solution at world's first plastic free supermarket

Anders Jacobson

Bluewater serves water free of micro plastics and other contaminants from unique water dispenser at opening of the world's first plastic-free metro supermarket

Micro-plastics are today found in over 80 percent of the world's tap water according to new research”

— AndersJacobson

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS, February 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Dutch supermarket chain Ekoplaza today launched a pilot metro market in Amsterdam, the Dutch capital, stocked with over 700 plastic-free products ranging from meats to fresh fruit and vegetables.

Bluewater, a world leader in water purification technologies and solutions, contributed a unique public hydration station that delivers on-demand pure drinking water free of micro-plastics and other contaminants ranging from lead to pesticides and gender-bending hormones.

"Micro-plastics are today found in over 80 percent of the world's tap water according to new research, while other studies indicate pollution of drinking water by pervasive gender-bending chemicals and hormones is leading to lower fertility rates and hormone disruption in young women and men," said Anders Jacobson, President of Bluewater and co-founder and CEO of the company's holding company, Blue.

Jacobson said Bluewater's leading-edge, patented water purification technologies and delivery solutions effectively remove gender-bending chemicals found in cleaning agents, cosmetics and contraceptive pills as well as the micro-plastics now being found in tap water around the world.

Noting that the health impact of the plastics swamping the world's oceans are increasingly being documented by new studies, Jacobson described Ekoplaza's initiative to debut plastic free aisles as an 'innovative, exciting and necessary way to provide a solution to the catastrophic pollution of the planet by single use plastics'.

The plastic free aisle initiative was spurred by international environmental campaign group A Plastic Planet, a grassroots movement geared to turn off the plastic tap. A Plastic Planet co-founder Sian Sutherland said Ekoplaza's initiative 'represents a landmark moment for the global fight against plastic pollution and opening the door to a new future where the public are finally given a choice about whether to buy plastic or plastic free'.

Ekoplaza says it intends to rollout plastic free aisles across its 74 branches in the Netherlands over the coming 12 months. The next opening is scheduled for The Hague in June, and Bluewater plans to provide Ekoplaza customers in the Dutch port the opportunity to drink plastic free water as they shop shelves also devoid of polluting layers of plastic.

"We applaud both Ekoplaza and A Plastic Free Planet for creating a stunning stepping stone towards a better future where human ingenuity and solutions like those provided by Bluewater can help benefit planetary and human health," said Anders Jacobson.

###

Notes to Editors

" Launching in Amsterdam, the world's first Plastic Free Aisle is a joint initiative of environmental campaign group A Plastic Planet and Dutch supermarket Ekoplaza. The Aisle graphics were designed by London design studio Made Thought, and makes its debut alongside the brand new Plastic Free Trust Mark – a labelling system designed to help shoppers quickly identify products on the shelf that are free from plastic packaging.

" Founded last year by Sian Sutherland and Frederikke Magnussen, A Plastic Planet is a grassroots movement with a simple goal – to turn off the plastic tap. Over the past twelve months, A Plastic Planet has built a formidable coalition of supporters in favour of a Plastic Free Aisle in supermarkets.

" Ekoplaza is a Dutch supermarket chain with 74 stores across the Netherlands. The chain is one of Europe's leading organic grocers and is at the cutting edge of efforts to reduce the environmental impact of food and drink retail.

" Exclusive research by Orb Media, a top journalism site, and researchers at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, indicated microscopic plastic fibers are flowing out of taps from New York to New Delhi with women, children, men, and babies consuming plastic in their water-based drinks. The study pointed to the U.S. having the highest level of contamination, with perhaps 94 percent of water contaminated with microscopic plastic fibers.

" In October, 2017, Bluewater launched a planet-wide movement geared to harness human ingenuity to help bring cleaner, healthier water to everyone and create oceans without plastic.

Darwin Online Launches Exclusive Accessories Functionality with RevolutionParts

New Feature Empowers Auto Dealers to Capture their Share of Multi-Billion Dollar Ecommerce Auto Parts Sales

ISELIN, NEW JERSEY, USA, February 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Darwin Automotive, a leading F&I software provider for the automotive industry, today announced it has developed an exclusive algorithm for RevolutionParts, the fastest growing automotive parts eCommerce solution for auto dealerships. The new algorithm takes the vehicle’s VIN number, selects the top three accessories for that vehicle, then offers them up to the consumer. This provides auto dealers with a competitive edge in Ecommerce auto part sales, predicted to reach $8.89 billion at the end of 2017.

According to Phillip Battista, Darwin Automotive Chief Executive Office, this process duplicates retail giant Amazon’s actions at the point a customer checks out online. “Just like Amazon we say, ‘Hey, customers like you also brought these three things.’ It’s a highly successful form of suggestive selling. For years dealers have lamented that the accessory business is a huge hole in their world — something they cannot really take advantage of. Well now they can,” said Battista.

The Hedges and Company annual ecommerce aftermarket industry size forecast for vehicle parts put online retails sales at $8.89 billion in 2017, a 16 percent increase over 2016.

“Aftermarket accessories is a huge market and most new vehicle owners will purchase accessories within 45 days. The problem is, they purchase from someone other than the selling dealer. To be successful, in the past dealers almost needed a separate accessories department and salesperson,” said Battista. ‘However, with Darwin Online we can show that every car dealership can be its own accessories superstore without a huge effort. They have these quality factory parts in stock and just need to inform their customers at the point of purchase. For example, Darwin Online takes that new 2018 Ford Explorer purchaser and shows them that the top three suggested accessories are all-weather floor mats, running boards and a luggage rack. We suggest the best OEM parts for that customer and our dealers are seeing an incredible boost in their accessory sales,” Battista added.

“Darwin Online” interfaces with over 142 different product providers and allows dealerships to control their profitability and disclosure. It interacts with all dealership websites without any need for DMS integration, or the high fees associated. The platform provides accurate payments that match the dealership’s DMS to the penny.
With Darwin, the needs of a consumer are paramount in determining which products and services can best fit those needs. And with “Darwin Online,” this “needs discovery” can happen before they step into the dealership – right from their mobile device, 24/7.

Darwin uses a combination of algorithms to analyze in real time the customer’s answers to a set of needs-discovery questions, deal information, previous ownership history and any other details stored in the dealership’s DMS. Then, through predictive analytics, it produces a “Driver’s Needs Analysis,” which scores F&I products based on the buyer’s need and the likelihood the customer will purchase those protections.

Doubleview (TSX-V: DBV) – Doubleview Provides Plans for Launch of 2018 Field Season

Lisle - Hoey Gold - Proposed drill locations

Lisle – Hoey Gold – Proposed drill locations

Exploration work ready to begin as soon as field conditions permit. The Hat Project lies within the Golden Triangle area of northwestern BC, Canada.

Doubleview Capital Corp (TSX:DBV)

VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA, February 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Doubleview Capital Corp. (“Doubleview”) (TSX-V: DBV) reports it has completed a comprehensive review of historic and recent work on its Hat gold-copper-cobalt-silver porphyry project, with definition drilling and other exploration work ready to begin as soon as field conditions permit. The Hat Project lies within the Golden Triangle area of northwestern British Columbia, 190 kilometres south of Atlin. Following recent tenure acquisitions, the project’s claim holdings now comprise 6,308 hectares.

Diamond drilling at the Hat Project will focus initially on the property’s Lisle and Hoey areas, exploring the continuity of gold-copper-cobalt-silver mineralization in the 2-kilometre distance between the areas. In particular, drilling site will be positioned south of Doubleview’s drill hole H-22 that intersected 418.28 metres of 0.50% CuEq mineralization including 110 meters of 1.01% CuEq mineralization (1). The mineralization in hole H-22 lies at the same elevation as mineral showings at the Hoey Gold prospect which is also going to be explored by diamond drilling.

The Hoey area has been sampled at surface where metal values as high as 7.05% copper, 8.11 g/tonne gold, and 0.54% Cobalt were reported from chip and channel samples. Geochemical soil samples from the area are strongly anomalous in precious metals, copper and other elements that accompany alkalic porphyry-type mineralization.

The section diagram demonstrates the updated mineralization models and proposed initial drill locations south of the Lisle area and Hoey Gold prospect.

Other highly prospective areas of the Hat Project may be drill tested later in the season.

For more information, please see the company's new presentation at:

http://www.doubleview.ca/news-release/powerpoint-presentation/

(1) News Release dated: January 23, 2018; CuEq figures employ the following metal prices: Gold: $1300/oz, Copper: $3.0/lb, Silver: $17/oz, and Cobalt: $35/lb. CuEq. calculations are presented in US dollars.
